Although it is indicated that there haven’t been any significant developments in exclusive insurance companies on the issue of corporate governance, some serious steps are expected to be taken on that issue in the next 5 years by the effect of foreign investment.

Cemal Ererdi, the CEO of Axa Sigorta, have told that Turkish Insurance Sector haven’t taken the principles of corporate governance into account until today, but as owners of the insurance companies are controlled by foreigners are increasing,the issue of corporate governance comes into question.

Also, Nüzhet Atabek, the Managing Director of RAY Sigorta, have informed that institutionalized foreign insurance companies are investing in Turkey at the moment and giving information to Turkey about “corporate governance”.
